For 2012, the big news for the Dodge Avenger is the new R/T trim. It features a stiffened suspension, black headlamp background, "war paint" decal on the front fender, and unique 18" aluminum wheels. The interior receives perforated leather steering wheel, stripe fabric inserts with leather-trimmed bolsters, and upgraded 276-watt sound system.

For 2011, the Dodge Avenger receives significant upgrades to the interior and suspension, as well as new standard equipment, including stability and traction control systems, 17-inch wheels and LED tail lamps. Additionally, the model lineup gets a revised trim naming convention, and the new Pentastar V6 engine is made available.

For 2010, the Avenger receives a new Express trim, which adds additional features over the SXT trim.

All-wheel drive is available for Base, SXT and R/T models. Otherwise, rear-wheel drive is standard. Safety features that come standard on all SXT, R/T and SRT8 Charger models include anti-lock brakes, all-speed traction control and electronic stability control with brake assist.
